Everybody around me had discouraged my choice because no university in the country was offering the course. I had even settled for what I could get here and hope to return to my dream course later in the future when pursuing a Masters degree. It is a dream come true
Fehintola was about resigning to fate again when she stumbled on an advertisement calling for entries to participate in a Canadian scholarship by Luz Neema Foundation, a subsidiary of Comfort Zone Educational. Armed with a top drawer West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result and resolute resolve, she was shortlisted for the final round of oral and written tests before emerging winner of the maiden edition.

Although LNF was incorporated with CAC since the 6th of October, 2011, full operations commenced from the 1st of March, 2012 with an invitation for the general public to apply for a scholarship to Canada. The intention here was to encourage equal opportunity to interested students, while the final selections of 5 finalists are awarded the scholarship. Also noteworthy is the fact that LNF would only offer tuition only scholarships worth N6m (six million naira) or $40,000 (forty thousand dollars) over a period of 4 years.
The foundation has an interesting combination of 7 members on its board of trustees. These individuals have been carefully selected as professionals from various walks of life who understand and identify with social issues with a bit of embedded political aspects but not overtly so. From the educational consultant, engineer, pharmacist, security consultant, filmmaker, medical doctor to the legal practitioner, major areas were covered.
At its take off, LNF’s area of concentration for its maiden edition was in Lagos, subsequent editions would be introduced to the western regions and eventually covers the entirety of Nigeria.
